Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated IT Specialist within the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) of Schleswig-Holstein, focusing on complex cybercrime investigations. The specialist will be responsible for the independent, case-related processing of qualified cybercrime procedures, including securing, examining, and analyzing extensive digital evidence such as data carriers, deleted files, and malware. A key part of the job involves developing, implementing, and verifying new IT examination methods and tools, including creating and adapting scripts/programs for automation. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with other federal agencies, providing IT support consultation to police departments, and performing system administration for the local network. This is a full-time, permanent position offering diverse, public-interest focused work within a collegial environment, ideal for an IT professional with strong forensic and networking skills seeking a challenging role in law enforcement.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (minimum Bachelor's) in Computer Science or Informatics

Experience

  • Professional experience in independent, case-related processing of cybercrime procedures
  • Professional experience in securing, examining, and analyzing extensive digital evidence
  • Professional experience in developing and implementing IT investigation methods and tools
  • Professional experience in system administration (local network and systems)
  • At least 3 years of practical professional experience in a similar area (to qualify for higher pay grade)
