Job Summary

This role involves shaping change and taking responsibility within the Central Services IT section of the State Office for GeoInformation Bremen. The IT Specialist will be crucial in maintaining and developing the office's technology infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include participating in IT planning, ensuring smooth IT operations, and managing software licenses. Key responsibilities cover client and software management, network administration, and server room operations, including specialized application support (Fachverfahrensbetreuung). The specialist will also be the main contact for technical device support (plotters, mobile devices, projectors), manage user accounts, and handle IT procurement and inventory. Required qualifications include a degree in relevant fields like Business, Administrative, or Media Informatics, or a completed professional training as an IT Specialist with substantial relevant professional experience. Candidates must demonstrate fundamental knowledge of IT security, data protection, and network/server operations, coupled with strong service orientation and excellent German language skills.

Required Skills

Education

Completed (Technical) University degree, preferably in Business and Administrative Informatics, Media Informatics, or a comparable subject with an IT component; OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker)

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience (required if applying with vocational training as IT Specialist)
  • Experience in user support
  • Experience in dealing with IT service providers
  • Knowledge and experience in budget and procurement management
