Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Dr. Rolf M. Schwiete Center for Limbal Stem Cell Research and Congenital Aniridia at the Saarland University Hospital (UKS). The role focuses on investigating the pathophysiological and molecular biological foundations of congenital aniridia and limbal stem cell insufficiency within a highly interdisciplinary environment that closely links clinical practice and basic research. Day-to-day tasks involve isolating and cultivating primary cells from patient tissue, performing advanced cell and molecular biology techniques (such as PCR, Western Blotting, and flow cytometry), and leading the planning and coordination of scientific publications and grant proposals. The ideal candidate will have a doctorate in Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, or Medicine, coupled with practical experience in cell and molecular biology, excellent organizational skills, and a self-reliant work ethic. This full-time, four-year fixed-term position offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge research in a modern, well-equipped laboratory environment.
