Job Summary

This role seeks a Project Engineer to join the Water Resilience team, focusing on structural hydraulic and civil engineering projects within Arcadis' global Resilience business. The successful candidate will manage and execute challenging regional and supra-regional water infrastructure projects, including flood protection systems, locks, weirs, dams, retention basins, waterway development, inland waterways, and harbor construction. Day-to-day responsibilities involve preparing proposals, serving as a key client contact, and managing the constructive planning process from conceptual design through execution, tendering, and implementation. A core focus is ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Civil Engineering, relevant experience in hydraulic engineering projects, and strong skills in project and contract management, contributing to the firm’s mission of building sustainable and resilient communities against climate change impacts.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Civil Engineering, ideally with a focus on Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Civil Engineering

Experience

  • First professional experience in processing hydraulic engineering projects
  • Experience in schedule and cost controlling
  • Experience in project and contract management and associated reporting
  • Professional experience in coordination and leading discussions with internal and external project participants
