Job Summary

This critical role involves leading and implementing university-wide projects focused on Cyber Resilience and IT Asset Management at one of Europe's leading universities, LMU Munich. The Project Lead will be responsible for coordinating efforts across faculties and central IT services, focusing on establishing and maintaining the university's IT landscape map (assets, services, data flows) as a foundation for robust security measures. Key tasks include conducting risk and protection needs analyses, deriving concrete security measures, and providing on-site security consulting to decentralized university units regarding secure system configuration, network segmentation, and access concepts. The ideal candidate possesses a Master's degree in IT or a related field, strong technical foundational knowledge (Networking, IAM, SIEM), and proven experience in IT/Cybersecurity project management, coupled with excellent communication skills to balance security requirements with the autonomy of research and teaching departments.

Master's degree, preferably in Business Informatics or a comparable field (Informatics/IT Security/Business Informatics), or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT/Cybersecurity project management
  • Experience in capturing and modeling IT assets (CMDB/Inventory, Service Catalog, Application Maps)
  • Practical understanding of university IT environments (heterogeneous environments, decentralized responsibilities, legacy systems)
