Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) in the commercialization of research findings through patenting and licensing activities. The Patent and License Manager will be responsible for advising scientists at LMU and the University Hospital on inventions, patenting procedures, and commercialization strategies. Key tasks include conducting patent searches, preparing decision documents for university management regarding patent claims and release, and strategically managing patent portfolios in collaboration with inventors and external legal partners. A strong focus is placed on negotiating commercialization agreements with spin-offs, SMEs, and global companies, alongside maintaining expert networks and conducting internal information events on Intellectual Property Management (IPM). This position requires a scientific or technical background, experience in patent and license management, and strong communication skills, particularly in English, to facilitate successful technology transfer.
