Job Summary
This role offers a unique opportunity to actively shape the European energy transition by leveraging strong analytical and IT skills to develop consistent, cross-sectoral energy scenarios. Working within 50Hertz, one of Germany's leading Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and part of the international Elia Group, the specialist will focus on modeling the future European energy system and electricity markets. Key responsibilities include developing and refining scenario modeling methodologies, performing in-depth analysis of large data sets, and communicating complex results and interdependencies to internal and international partners. Candidates must possess a relevant Master’s degree, deep knowledge of energy economics, and proven programming skills, particularly in Python, coupled with fluency in both German and English.
Required Skills
Education
Master's or Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering/Energy Technology, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Extensive experience in the development and preparation of scenarios
- Professional experience in analyzing complex interdependencies
- Experience in market modeling (advantageous)
- Experience in handling large data volumes and databases (advantageous)
Languages
Additional
- Permanent, full-time contract. Strong interest in European perspectives on energy and grid development, including collaboration with TSOs and European partners.
