Job Summary

This is a part-time (50%) Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the University of Greifswald, focused on research and teaching within the General and Special Botany Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and supervising practical courses and exercises in systematic botany for BSc modules, and in Plant Species Conservation and Plant Reproduction Genetics for MSc modules. A key component of the role involves conducting independent research in population genetics and speciation of higher plants and/or cryptogams, leading to scientific publications. Furthermore, the associate is expected to write a proposal for DFG funding to secure their own future position. This role is specifically designed for career qualification in the second phase, supporting preparation for a Habilitation or equivalent qualification. Requirements include a completed scientific university degree, a strong publication portfolio, and a completed PhD in Biology or a related field, preferably with a strong molecular biology background in evolutionary genetics. Excellent English and sufficient German for teaching are highly desirable.
