Job Summary

This role supports the operation and expansion of the ASDEX Upgrade large-scale fusion experiment at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) in Garching. The primary focus is the maintenance and continued development of the 8 MW millimeter-wave heating system. Day-to-day tasks include performing essential maintenance, assembly, and repair work, alongside creating design plans, managing manufacturing documentation, and conducting commissioning and testing procedures. The technician will also be responsible for operating the system during test and experimental phases, including monitoring and troubleshooting. Candidates must hold a Certified Technician qualification in Electrical Engineering and possess practical experience in areas such as high-voltage technology, automation systems (like SIMATIC), and laboratory work, contributing to a critical scientific-technical project in an international research environment.
