Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP), a leading global center for fusion research, is seeking a dedicated IT Service Desk Specialist/IT Specialist in System Integration to join their IT Infrastructure and Security department in Garching. This full-time, permanent role is crucial for maintaining smooth client IT operations and ensuring reliable support for end-users. Day-to-day tasks involve handling 1st and 2nd-Level support tickets related to hardware, software, networking, and printers, while strictly adhering to service levels. The specialist will also act as a subject matter expert in one or two key IT areas (e.g., Windows, Linux, Network, Storage), taking responsibility for problem resolution, knowledge transfer, and documentation. The ideal candidate holds a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist in System Integration or equivalent, possesses strong knowledge of client installation, maintenance, and the full Microsoft Office suite, and demonstrates excellent customer and service orientation alongside fluent German and English skills.
