Job Summary

This is a unique, project-based opportunity for a Technical Officer to join the Thuringian State Office for Consumer Protection in Nordhausen, focusing on metrology and verification enforcement. The role is initially limited to one year. Day-to-day responsibilities involve the calibration and verification of measuring instruments, such as non-automatic weighing scales, weights, pressure gauges, and fuel pumps, ensuring compliance with legal metrology standards. You will also be responsible for market surveillance of measuring devices and pre-packaged goods, and executing regulatory measures. Key qualifications include a completed technical vocational qualification or certification as a State Certified Technician or Master Craftsman in metal processing or electrical engineering. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical understanding, proficiency in MS Office and data management systems, and demonstrates conscientiousness, team spirit, and flexibility, coupled with a structured, goal-oriented approach to fieldwork.
