Job Summary
This role involves driving the implementation and continuous development of the Municipal Heat Plan (KWP) for the City of Darmstadt, contributing directly to local climate protection goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include strategic and conceptual planning, project commissioning, and conducting economic feasibility analyses for energy efficiency and heat supply solutions. The associate will track heat and cooling demands, analyze building heating structures, update waste heat potential, and manage greenhouse gas balancing. A critical component is stakeholder engagement, public information dissemination, and providing expert consultation to citizens regarding heat supply options. This position requires a Master's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific field, coupled with strong interdisciplinary knowledge in energy/heat generation and energy economics. This is a challenging, responsible, and varied full-time position (part-time possible) within a secure public sector environment, contracted until March 2027.
Required Skills
Education
Completed Master's degree (or equivalent university diploma) in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy, Building Energy Technology, Physics, Supply Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification with interdisciplinary expertise in energy/heat generation and energy economics.
Experience
- Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration with various stakeholders
- Professional experience in heating networks, environmental heat utilization, energetic building renovation, and/or energy management (Desirable)
- Experience in planning and implementing heat supply projects (Desirable)
- Experience in public relations and citizen information (Desirable)
