Job Summary

This role involves steering and coordinating technical building operations to ensure sustainable and efficient property management, focusing heavily on compliance with German building services regulations (Haustechnikprüfungsverordnung), laws, and standards. The engineer will be responsible for training staff on regulations concerning drinking water, operational safety, and occupational health for elevator, water, and separator systems. Key duties include monitoring legal compliance, providing expert technical advice to management and municipal departments, and identifying and assessing operational risks within municipal properties. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering (TGA, Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or Supply Engineering) and possesses several years of relevant professional experience, coupled with strong knowledge of public construction laws (VOB, VGV, VOL) and administrative procedures. This is a permanent, part-time position (19.5 hours/week) offering a secure, family-friendly work environment within the City of Darmstadt's property management division.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or Diploma (FH) in Engineering, specializing in Technical Building Equipment (TGA), Building Services, Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or Supply Engineering, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with laws, regulations, and guidelines for municipal construction
  • Practical experience concerning the impact of legal provisions on administrative action, especially for the construction, technical operation, and energy supply of municipal buildings
  • Practical experience with listed/historic buildings
