This role involves the development and enhancement of safety-critical, IT-based systems for railway infrastructure, focusing specifically on the European Train Control System (ETCS). The specialist will lead the specification of requirements (use cases/functions) for computer-based railway signaling technology, ensuring alignment with operational needs and strategic system architecture. Day-to-day tasks include acting as the technical interface between functional subsystems, coordinating integration, reviewing supplier specifications, and conducting system acceptance testing. A key component is representing the department in international standardization bodies (TSI CCS) and supporting operations post-commissioning by analyzing critical failures related to safety and availability. The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, possesses experience with safety-critical systems like ETCS, and is proficient in IT networks and security. Strong analytical skills, a structured approach, and fluent English are essential for this challenging position within a complex project environment.
