This critical role involves leading the new development and continuous enhancement of IT-based, safety-critical railway infrastructure systems, such as advanced digital interlocking technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include specifying detailed requirement catalogs (use cases and functions) that serve as the foundation for system development by external suppliers. The specialist is responsible for defining and ensuring the specification of technical interfaces between functional subsystems and overseeing their integration into the broader system landscape. A major component of the job is quality assurance, involving the review of supplier specifications, defining system acceptance criteria, and managing system acceptance. Furthermore, the role requires representing the organization in international standardization bodies (like TSI CCS and Eulynx) to shape the future of European railway technology. Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field, coupled with specific professional knowledge of deploying safety-critical IT systems and familiarity with IT network and security challenges. This position requires a highly analytical, proactive, and reliable individual.

Required Skills

Experience

  • Experience working independently and proactively in project and process landscapes.
  • Experience with safety-critical train protection or train control systems (Ideal).
