Job Summary

This role involves providing essential technical and administrative support for the Digital Media Lab at the University of Bremen, focusing on Human-Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality, AI, and research data infrastructures. The specialist will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and development of a heterogeneous client and server infrastructure (Windows, macOS, Linux, and UNIX), including network management and web hosting. Key daily tasks include implementing solutions using Bash, Powershell, and Python, evaluating new hardware and software, managing procurement, and creating detailed documentation. The position also requires supporting scientific staff and students in software projects, and managing specialized facilities like the 3D Printing Lab and Motion Capturing Lab, ensuring a cooperative and service-oriented work style within an international research team.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH Diploma or Bachelor) in Computer Science or comparable, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (System Integration or Digital Networking)

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT systems integration or digital networking
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience (if holding a vocational degree)
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience (preferred for comparable qualifications)
