Job Summary

This role involves contributing to the establishment of a central Competence Hub focused on the data-driven optimization of operational planning and scheduling across diverse business sectors, including Automotive and Medical Technology. The Data Scientist will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing complex Data Science and optimization solutions, utilizing mathematical optimization, Machine Learning (such as forecasting models), and Artificial Intelligence to enhance task and route planning efficiency. A key part of the job includes preparing and visualizing results, deriving practical recommendations, and presenting analytical insights to various stakeholders. You will work within agile, interdisciplinary teams alongside software developers and experts, driving the end-to-end implementation and scaling of new solutions. This position requires a background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, coupled with at least three years of practical experience in Data Science and optimization methods, and proficiency in Python programming for data analysis.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of practical experience applying Data Science and optimization methods in a corporate or consulting environment
  • In-depth expertise in mathematical optimization and Machine Learning, ideally focused on forecasting and route planning
  • Professional experience in data preparation and visualization
  • Experience in end-to-end implementation projects for new solutions
