Job Summary

The City Administration of Leverkusen is seeking a dedicated Expert for Nature and Landscape to join the Department of Environment for a two-year, full-time contract. This role is crucial for protecting and developing natural habitats within the city. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting technical statements on various projects, legally evaluating nature conservation issues, and defining and overseeing the implementation of necessary conservation measures. A core part of the job involves reviewing environmental reports and expert opinions for completeness, plausibility, and quality. The expert will also ensure the proper execution of avoidance, compensation, and replacement measures under the Federal Nature Conservation Act, collaborating closely with internal departments, project sponsors, and external consultants. Ideal candidates will possess a university degree in Biology, Geography (with a nature conservation focus), Landscape Ecology, Landscape Planning, or Architecture, and demonstrate a structured, solution-oriented approach.

Required Skills

Experience

  • Professional experience in the public service (advantageous)
