Job Summary
This role involves supporting the IT security implementation for the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II) at the Technical University of Munich, one of the world's most advanced neutron sources. The specialist will manage and maintain a diverse range of operational IT systems and networks, from standard PC systems to highly specialized, heterogeneous control systems used for monitoring the FRM II. Key responsibilities include implementing IT security measures based on the SEWD-IT directive, ensuring IT systems are minimally functional, and managing security aspects in supplier relationships. This position requires deep technical knowledge in IT security standards, particularly those applied to critical infrastructure like nuclear facilities, and involves close administrative collaboration with technical departments and regulatory authorities. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree (FH or University) in Computer Science or IT field
Experience
- Professional experience with security standards and processes for critical infrastructure and protection of radioactive materials
- Experience in IT operation including testing, monitoring, and emergency preparedness
- Experience with attacker scenarios, especially concerning privileged access
- Experience with specific requirements for safety-critical areas such as nuclear energy or transport of radioactive materials

- Must pass reliability check (atomrechtliche Zuverlässigkeit) required for high-security facilities; Fixed-term contract for 3 years; Must be suitable for full-time work (40 hours/week); Location constraint: Garching near Munich.
