Job Summary

The Technical University of Munich is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to cover parental leave for approximately two years, starting in April. This full-time role (part-time possible) is crucial for the 'Land-Surface Atmosphere Interaction' chair, focusing heavily on stable isotope analysis. The core responsibilities include the precise measurement of stable isotopes using Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) and ensuring the continuous operational readiness of the IRMS devices and elemental analyzers through routine maintenance. Candidates must be proficient in general laboratory management, sample preparation, and collection, which includes occasional fieldwork and working on scaffolding. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, possesses proven experience with analytical methods, and demonstrates excellent self-organization. Fluency in both German and English is mandatory for effective communication within the international team.
