Job Summary

The Venture Manager Biotech will play a crucial role in accelerating the translation of biotechnological research into real-world applications within the BioSysteM Cluster at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The core mission involves building and leading the Biosystems Stream within the TUM Venture Labs, focusing on developing Deep-Tech spin-offs from cutting-edge research in DNA nanotechnology, synthetic biology, and AI. Day-to-day tasks include actively scouting for entrepreneurial potential in scientific projects, building a vibrant community of researchers, industry experts, and investors, and developing educational formats to empower scientists. This position requires a strong background in Life Sciences or Bioengineering, coupled with proven experience in innovation management, venture building, or start-up support, offering a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of world-class research and deep-tech innovation in Europe's leading ecosystem.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma, Master's, or PhD) in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Biophysics, Synthetic Biology, or a related field

Experience

  • Relevant experience in biotechnology and biomedical applications
  • Proven experience in innovation management, technology transfer, venture building, investment, or start-up support, especially in the life-science sector
