Job Summary

This three-year qualification program, supported by federal and state funding, is designed for Bachelor graduates passionate about climate protection and interested in the revitalization of moorlands in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Participants will be trained as certified Moor Specialists, combining rigorous theoretical foundations with extensive practical experience. Day-to-day responsibilities involve rotating through three different deployment sites, gaining hands-on experience in planning, permitting, implementation, and evaluation of moor-based climate protection projects. Practical tasks include mapping and surveying techniques, (geo)data management, hydraulic engineering planning, cost calculation, and grant application. Successful candidates must hold a relevant Bachelor's degree in natural or environmental sciences and possess C1 level German language skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to acquire interdisciplinary knowledge and specialized certification in a crucial area of environmental protection.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in a natural or environmental science discipline (e.g., Biology, Landscape Ecology, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering) or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Completed university or technical college degree (Bachelor's level) in a natural or environmental science field (e.g., Biology, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering)
  • Willingness to travel for training courses and deployment site activities
  • Driver's license Class B and willingness to drive official vehicles
  • Desirable: Initial professional, voluntary, or internship experience in climate protection and/or moorland protection
