Job Summary
This is a part-time Research Associate position (25.35 hours/week) within the Institute for Molecular Virology and Cell Biology in Greifswald, specifically structured to allow the successful candidate to complete a doctoral thesis by December 2028. The role is integral to the EU project focused on Quantitative Diagnostics using Mass Spectrometry. The successful candidate will join the Proteomics and Systems Biology group, applying advanced 'omics' techniques to address virological and cell biological questions, particularly concerning the African Swine Fever Virus. Daily responsibilities include the cultivation of microorganisms and cell cultures, conducting molecular biology and infection experiments, preparing proteomic samples, performing mass spectrometric measurements, and analyzing the resulting complex data. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, or a related natural science field, and demonstrate proficiency in either German or English for scientific collaboration.
