Job Summary

This role involves working as an IT Specialist within the Federal Office for Military Counterintelligence (MAD) in Cologne, a key German intelligence service. The primary focus is on the provision, administration, and operation of collaboration systems, including the installation and configuration of Windows Servers, collaboration applications, and associated management and monitoring systems. Daily tasks will include operational monitoring, function testing, system maintenance, and software releases. The specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving system malfunctions and issues, adhering to high security standards, coordinating with external IT service providers, and creating operational documentation. This is a full-time, permanent position offering flexible working hours and significant career development opportunities within the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) framework, requiring commitment to democratic principles and successful completion of an extended security clearance.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor / Diploma [FH]) in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, or a comparable IT-focused degree, or equivalent abilities and experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT systems administration
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of collaboration and Windows Server systems
  • Experience with Support processes based on IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standard (Desirable)
  • Experience with virtualized IT infrastructures (Desirable)
