Job Summary

This leadership role involves managing the Information Technology subdivision within the Dresden Municipal Libraries, focusing on the planning, development, and implementation of critical digitization projects for a large urban networked library system. The Head of IT will be responsible for ensuring data protection and information security, developing investment concepts for the IT domain, and managing the entire IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and specialized library management systems. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing and adapting library-specific data exchange formats, managing and resolving complex software and hardware malfunctions (e.g., communication, event, and booking technology), and introducing multi-user applications. The position requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to train and advise staff on new data processing technologies, ensuring the continuous modernization of the library's IT landscape.
