Job Summary

This Research Associate (Doctoral Candidate) position at the University of Wuppertal offers a unique opportunity to pursue a PhD focused on investigating the occurrence and uptake of oxidized lipids within the Food Chemistry department. The role involves significant independent research, including the development and application of advanced analytical techniques such as non-targeted and targeted metabolomics using LC-MS. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting cell culture experiments with human cells and supporting teaching activities (up to 2 hours per week). Candidates must hold a completed Master's degree in Food Chemistry or Chemistry, specializing in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry. Essential qualifications include practical experience in quantitative analysis, biochemical methods, or cell culture, coupled with strong knowledge of biochemistry and nutritional physiology. This structured, part-time position (50%) is temporary (up to 3 years initially) and is explicitly designed to facilitate the completion of a doctoral degree.
