Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated IT Support Analyst to join the Federal Office of Administration (BVA) in Germany, focusing on 2nd level support for critical IT applications, including the Passenger Name Record (PNR) system, which contributes significantly to public safety in Germany and the EU. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and analyzing IT disruptions, evaluating incidents, and developing efficient incident management processes. This position involves close collaboration with various departments, including development, IT operations, and external partners. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and an ability to work with modern technologies and agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban. Required Skills

Education

Completed IHK apprenticeship as an IT Specialist (Application Development or System Integration) OR University degree (min. Bachelor) in Computer Science OR University degree in another field combined with professional experience/knowledge in software development and agile projects OR Multi-year professional experience with relevant skills.

Experience

  • Professional experience in software development (e.g., Java) in agile projects (Scrum, Kanban etc.) OR multi-year professional experience in agile projects (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
  • Extensive experience with collaboration tools (Atlassian Jira/Confluence)
  • Proven knowledge in Linux, databases, or basic scripting (e.g., Bash/Python/SQL)
