Job Summary

The Data Protection Officer will serve as the primary advisor to the administration on all matters related to data privacy, ensuring compliance with key regulations including GDPR, BDSG, SDSG, and the Freedom of Information Act. Daily duties involve drafting official statements, responding to inquiries, and conducting essential training and workshops for employees on data protection best practices. The role also requires participation in external audits and assisting with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). This is a full-time, permanent position within the Legal Department and City Legal Committee, offering the flexibility of working from home. Candidates must possess a university degree in Law or Administrative Sciences and demonstrate excellent knowledge of data protection law, coupled with strong communication skills and a service-oriented, reliable, and discreet professional demeanor.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (State Examination, Bachelor, Diploma, or Master) in Law or Administrative Sciences. Certification as a Data Protection Officer or comparable qualifications (advantageous).

Experience

  • Professional experience in a responsible position with comparable tasks (advantageous)
  • Experience ideally within the public sector (advantageous)
