Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Civil Engineer to join the Office for Road Construction and Traffic Infrastructure, focusing on the maintenance and repair of public roads, paths, and squares within the city. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of road maintenance and civil engineering projects, from planning and tendering to on-site supervision and billing. A key aspect of the role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including other city departments, utility providers, and residents, ensuring smooth project execution. Additionally, you will oversee traffic safety measures during special operations like floods. This position offers a chance to contribute significantly to urban infrastructure, working autonomously while applying your expertise in road construction and project management.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelor/Master of Engineering/Science or Diplomingenieur (FH/TH/TU)) with a specialization in Traffic Engineering/Road Construction or Structural Engineering. Alternatively, a Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Civil, Deep, or Road Construction) with many years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in road construction
  • Leadership experience (advantageous)

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Valid driver's license (minimum Class B) and willingness to use own vehicle for business trips. Readiness to work outside regular hours if required. Willingness for further training. Foreign university degrees require evaluation by the Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK/ZAB).
