Job Summary

This doctoral researcher position, part of the prestigious 'BlueMat: Water-Driven Materials' Cluster of Excellence, focuses on characterizing the specialized mechanical and acoustic properties of novel, innovative materials, particularly using ultrasonic techniques. The successful candidate will design, build, and execute experiments utilizing ultrasonic immersion and laser-based ultrasonic methods to determine sound velocity and damping, while also characterizing material samples under varying environmental conditions. A key aspect of the role involves developing numerical models to simulate ultrasonic wave propagation and exploring application scenarios for these new materials in acoustic sensor and actuator technology. This role requires a Master's degree in Physics or Engineering, proven experience in both experimental work and numerical simulation, and programming proficiency in tools like Matlab or Python, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge sustainable materials research within a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.
