Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge software development, materials research, and industrial application within the prestigious Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous development, operation, and explanation of a digital workflow management environment. Key daily tasks involve enabling innovative, reproducible material simulations, digitally controlling and processing experimental data, and integrating advanced AI/Machine Learning models directly with simulations and experiments. Candidates must possess a completed scientific university degree (Master/Diploma) in Physics, Computer Science, Materials Science, or Engineering, ideally supplemented by a PhD with a high grade. Solid knowledge of atomistic or multiscale material simulations, proficiency in a programming language like Python or C++, and experience in research data management are essential to succeed in this dynamic and forward-looking environment.
