Job Summary

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) is seeking an IT Customer Support Specialist to join the Maritime Data Center (MDZ) in Hamburg or Rostock. This is a crucial role acting as the primary interface between technical IT development teams and internal business departments concerning hardware, software systems, applications, and communication technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing and resolving service requests and incidents, managing IT-related communications (intranet updates, maintenance emails), and leading small IT projects, such as introducing new hardware. The ideal candidate must possess a university degree in fields like Business Informatics or Computer Science, coupled with strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and process management, preferably ITIL. This position requires excellent communication, negotiation skills, and a high degree of independence to ensure customer-oriented solutions are developed efficiently and in alignment with ITIL best practices. This is a temporary contract, anticipated until the end of 2027.
