Job Summary

This critical engineering role focuses on developing and optimizing next-generation Tesla products for occupant safety and crash durability. The CAE Analysis Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed finite element models and performing complex linear and nonlinear analyses across various structural components, from subsystems to complete vehicles. Key daily tasks include simulating frontal crash, side impact, roof strength, and HV battery systems to ensure compliance with global safety requirements (e.g., FMVSS, EuroNCAP). The role requires a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, detailed knowledge of FEA, Solid Mechanics, and specific experience with CAE tools like ANSA, LS-DYNA, and META. The successful candidate must possess excellent technical skills, be self-motivated, and capable of challenging established methods to improve efficiency while delivering concise reports under extremely tight timing constraints within a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.

Required Skills

Education

Mechanical Engineering degree, or equivalent, with detailed and applied knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, Material Science, and Numerical Methods.

Experience

  • Professional experience in product development utilizing Finite Element Analysis and Numerical Methods
  • Detailed and applied software experience with CAE pre-processors, solvers, and post-processors
  • Experience with Occupant Analysis methods and Restraint Systems
