Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge research in Kidney Immunology at the University Hospital Erlangen, specifically focusing on the immune response and therapeutic interventions for kidney transplant rejection. The successful candidate will be integral to the 'Kidney Immunology' working group, performing essential laboratory tasks aimed at understanding and manipulating T- and B-cell activation to prolong transplant function. Day-to-day duties include extensive cell culture of human and animal leukocytes, isolation of specific leukocyte subpopulations, and performing complex functional in vitro assays, including T-/B-cell activation assays. A critical requirement is proven expertise in Flow Cytometry and data analysis using programs like Flowjo. The ideal candidate will possess a background as a BTA/MTLA or a Bachelor's degree in natural sciences, coupled with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. This full-time position offers a motivating team environment, comprehensive training, and flexible working hours, initially on a one-year contract with the strong potential for permanent employment.

Education

Completed training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) or Medical Technical Laboratory Assistant (MTLA), or a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences

Experience

  • Fundamental professional experience with Flow Cytometry and analysis programs (Flowjo)
  • Experience with isolation and culture of human T- and B-lymphocytes
  • Professional experience gained through BTA/MTLA training or natural science studies
