Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) in advancing its digital strategy and IT research initiatives. The officer will be a central pillar in handling cross-departmental IT matters, including evaluating and initiating project proposals, creating fundamental IT concepts (e.g., IT consolidation, project management standards), and drafting official reports for BAMF leadership. A key focus is coordinating the implementation of modernization projects aligned with the E-Government and BAMF Digitalization Agenda. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT or business field, proven knowledge in IT project planning, and strong analytical and conceptual skills. This position offers an opportunity to shape the digital transformation of a major federal authority, ensuring uniform and optimal workflows across critical IT domains. Multiple positions are available, both permanent and temporary (24 months), based in Nuremberg.

Required Skills

Education

Completed (Technical) University degree at Bachelor's level or equivalent. Preferred fields include Computer Science, Business Informatics, Economics, Mathematics, or other relevant studies with an IT focus, or a completed MINT profession with an IT focus.

Experience

  • Proven knowledge in IT project planning and organization (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in IT areas (e.g., IT architecture, software development, IT administration) (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of procedural organization and general administrative work (ideal)
  • Alternatively, minimum three years of professional experience in an IT workplace evaluated at the E10-E12 level
