This role involves specialized chemical engineering expertise within the university's Waste Management department, focusing on the safe and compliant handling and disposal of hazardous waste. The Chemical Engineer will be responsible for organizing and managing the special waste storage facility, accepting old chemicals and hazardous materials, and preparing documentation for their disposal in accordance with the German Circular Economy Act (KrWG). Key responsibilities also include maintaining the hazardous materials register, conducting annual inventories, creating risk assessments, and providing waste consulting services to university staff. Candidates must possess a degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent professional experience, combined with practical knowledge of relevant legal frameworks like ChemVV and CLP-VO.
