Job Summary
This fixed-term role, covering parental leave until April 30, 2027, involves acting as a central point of contact for businesses in Karlsruhe, supporting the city's economic development initiatives. The officer will independently advise small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on all matters concerning the business location, providing reliable, solution-oriented support. Key responsibilities include negotiating with companies regarding settlement, relocation, or expansion projects within Karlsruhe and acting as a guide (Lotsenfunktion) through complex administrative and permitting procedures, while also informing businesses about financing and funding opportunities. Furthermore, the role requires strengthening local business networks, mediating contacts with relevant institutions, and organizing and moderating working groups. Candidates must possess a completed university degree in higher non-technical administrative service, business administration, or a comparable qualification, ideally coupled with prior professional experience in economic development, and demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
