Job Summary

This role seeks an IT Service Desk Specialist to join the City of Karlsruhe's IT and Digitalization Office, starting April 1, 2026, on a 75% part-time basis. You will serve as the primary point of contact for approximately 5,500 municipal employees, handling all IT service requests and disruption reports. Key responsibilities include documenting and tracking issues, performing independent remote troubleshooting using maintenance software to achieve a high first-call resolution rate, providing application support, and escalating complex issues to 2nd-level support. Candidates must possess a completed IT qualification (such as an IT Specialist for System Integration or a relevant IT degree), coupled with specific experience in telephone user help desk operations and expert knowledge of standard applications like Microsoft Office and Windows 11. Fluency in written and spoken German (C2 level) is mandatory. Required Skills

Education
