Job Summary

The Aachen Fire Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Lead for Administrative Personnel Management on a permanent, full-time basis. This critical role involves steering, controlling, and promoting the workflows and results of the administrative team. Day-to-day responsibilities include comprehensive personnel administration for both career and volunteer firefighters, managing formal matters in coordination with the Personnel and Organization department, and handling the complex payroll processing for operational staff overtime. Additionally, the role involves administering petty cash and acting as an instructor for "Constitutional Law" in fire marshal training courses. Candidates must possess high administrative qualifications (equivalent to the higher administrative service) or a relevant university degree in fields like Law or Administrative Sciences. Strong leadership potential, excellent communication skills, resilience, and a high sense of responsibility are essential. Required Skills

Education

Qualification for the Higher Administrative Service (Laufbahngruppe 2, 1st entry level) OR successful completion of Administrative Course II (Verwaltungslehrgang II) OR a comparable university degree (e.g., Diploma in Finance Administration, Legal Administration, or Bachelor/Diploma in Administrative Management, Law, Administrative Sciences, or Business Administration). Willingness to participate in internal professional qualification (Administrative Course II) if necessary.

Experience

  • Professional experience in administrative management or a related field
  • Professional experience in personnel administration (service and labor law matters)
  • Leadership experience or participation in a management development program (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Labor, Collective Bargaining, and Service Law (Desirable)
