Job Summary

This role involves working as a Medical Physics Expert within a highly modern, interdisciplinary team at the University Hospital Würzburg, focusing on cutting-edge radiation therapy and radiooncology. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and verifying radiation treatment plans, implementing new treatment techniques, performing physical-technical quality control and constancy checks, and managing radiation protection tasks. The position utilizes four state-of-the-art linear accelerators for image- and surface-guided radiotherapy, stereotaxy, radiosurgery, and AI-supported adaptive radiation. Candidates must possess a university degree (Master/Diploma) in Physics or Medical Physics and ideally hold the qualification as a Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Teletherapy (which can be acquired during employment). The role requires strong teamwork, precision, responsibility, and a willingness to engage in continuous professional development and potentially research activities.

Required Skills

Education

Master's or Diploma degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Medical Technology, or a comparable field; Qualification as a Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Teletherapy required (can be acquired on the job); Optional MPE qualification in Brachytherapy or X-ray Diagnostics.

Experience

  • Practical experience in Teletherapy, adaptive radiotherapy, medical imaging, dosimetry, or surface-guided radiotherapy (advantageous)
