Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity within Siemens Mobility, focusing on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of critical railway control and safety technology systems. The Service Technician will independently work on electronic components such as signals, switches, interlocking systems, and level crossing safety systems, alongside mechanical components. Key responsibilities include commissioning and decommissioning, performing independent testing of safety systems, executing scheduled maintenance, and troubleshooting faults. The ideal candidate must possess an electrical engineering background, specific training as a Signal Worker/Mechanic, and several years of professional experience in maintaining safety-critical railway infrastructure. This position requires teamwork, outdoor work in a regional area, and participation in on-call duties, contributing directly to making travel faster, safer, and more comfortable.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in an electrical engineering field (e.g., Automation Technician, Electrician, Mechatronics Technician); Certification as a Signal Worker/Mechanic (Signalwerker/-mechaniker)

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the maintenance and repair of safety-critical railway systems
  • Professional experience in inspecting and maintaining signaling systems (Signalwerker/-mechaniker qualification required)
