Job Summary

This role involves working as a Nature Conservation Specialist within the Federal Real Estate Agency (BImA), specifically supporting the Federal Forest division in Amberg, Germany. The specialist will be crucial in executing a pilot project focused on baseline data collection and management planning for large, actively used military properties, specifically the US training areas Hohenfels and Grafenwöhr. Day-to-day tasks include conducting biotope, FFH habitat type, and species mapping using both traditional and innovative techniques, processing and ensuring the quality of data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and databases, and planning landscape maintenance measures for species and habitat protection. The ideal candidate holds a university degree (FH/Bachelor) in a relevant field such as Nature Conservation, Biology, or Forestry, possesses strong knowledge of biotope mapping, GIS, and relevant environmental legislation, and demonstrates excellent organizational and conceptual skills.   • Professional experience working with Geographic Information Systems and databases
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental laws and regulations (e.g., Federal and State Forest Laws, EU Nature Conservation Directives)
