Job Summary

This full-time position, offered as a long-term sickness cover, is for a Data Protection Officer within the Economic and European Affairs department of the City of Salzgitter. The role is central to ensuring compliance with the Lower Saxony Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Day-to-day responsibilities include providing expert advice to the administration, organizational units, employees, and the public on fundamental data protection issues. You will be instrumental in projects and matters involving data protection components, such as drafting internal regulations, statutes, forms, and contracts, and participating in relevant internal and external working groups. Ideal candidates possess a background in public administration or law, strong legal application skills, and proficiency in project management and standard office software. This role offers flexible working hours, the option for mobile work (up to 40%), and compensation according to salary group E 11 TVöD/VKA.

Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of the Administrative Training Course II, or a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, General Administration, or Administrative Business Economics, or a comparable public administration degree; OR a university degree with a legal focus (e.g., Law, Business Law, Law/Personnel Management/Taxation).

Experience
