Job Summary

This PhD position at the Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg involves a cutting-edge research project focused on the intricate interplay between cognitive flexibility and uncertainty in laboratory mice. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team within the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG) and the Center for Intervention and Research on adaptive and maladaptive Brain Circuits (C-I-R-C). Day-to-day tasks include conducting behavioral neuroscience experiments, analyzing complex experimental data, and potentially performing stereotaxic surgery. The role requires a strong background in neurobiology, a keen interest in the neural basis of neuropsychiatric disorders, and a willingness to learn script-based configuration for experimental protocols. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to world-leading research in neuropharmacology, cognition, and emotions within an international, collaborative environment.
