Job Summary

This role at University Medicine Magdeburg focuses on advancing gender-sensitive medicine through cutting-edge data infrastructure. As a Cloud and Data Application Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of research data, from configuring virtual machines for patient data collection to building and maintaining a sophisticated Data Lake. Your daily tasks include developing Python-based applications, managing API access, and designing reliable ETL pipelines to move data from various sources into storage systems. You will also implement CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions to ensure high system availability. Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or Life Sciences.

Experience

  • Professional experience in independent programming with Python, JavaScript, and web application languages
  • Professional experience in managing large datasets and structured/unstructured data
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control for ETL deployments
  • Experience in secure data handling within cloud environments
  • Practical experience with Docker and OpenStack projects
  • Experience using project management systems like Confluence or Trello and document sharing tools
