This Postdoctoral position, fixed for three years, focuses on molecular reproductive physiology within a DGF-funded Collaborative Research Centre (CRC 1748). The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team to elucidate the molecular mechanisms enabling human sperm to sense their chemical and physical environment, specifically focusing on ion channels and signaling pathways. Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing the biophysical properties and interplay of sperm-specific ion channels, and performing advanced patch-clamp recordings from somatic and human sperm cells, often using caged compounds. The role requires a PhD in a relevant life science field (e.g., biology, biophysics) and prior hands-on experience with patch-clamp techniques.
