Job Summary

This is a pivotal leadership role within the Brandenburg State IT Service Provider (ZIT-BB), focusing on managing and strategically developing the state's network infrastructure and IP telephony systems. The Head of Department will lead a team of approximately 15 employees, ensuring the coordinated and secure operation of the State Administrative Network (LVN), firewall systems, and high-availability voice and video communication platforms. Key responsibilities include strategic planning for network evolution, integrating decentralized LAN environments, overseeing ITIL process implementation, and managing major procurement and project contracts related to the LVN. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant university degree (Master's level preferred) in IT or a related field, extensive professional experience, strong leadership skills, and deep technical knowledge of network architectures, protocols (LAN/WAN), and IP telephony. This position offers a stable, full-time, permanent leadership opportunity in the public sector, based in Potsdam.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) preferably in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Business Administration, Administrative Informatics, or Industrial Engineering. Alternatively, recognized equivalent abilities and experience.

Experience

  • Long-term professional experience (implied by 'langjährige Berufserfahrungen') in the required field
  • Professional experience in leading and managing teams (leadership position)
  • Experience with ITIL processes
  • Experience in the business administration/commercial sector (desirable)
