Job Summary

This role involves providing expert project management and procurement consulting services within the Federal Administration Office (BVA), focusing on the consolidation and optimization of federal IT services (BQI services). The consultant will take professional leadership of one or more consulting fields, setting priorities, and taking ownership of project responsibilities. Key tasks include developing, coordinating, and adjusting project plans, managing technical requirements for IT services, and designing and approving concepts and processes related to project management. A strong background in complex IT project planning and execution, ideally within public administration digitalization, is essential. The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, administration, or political science) and the ability to navigate legal requirements, particularly concerning employee representation rights. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Berlin, offering flexible working hours and the opportunity to shape the future of federal IT.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Economics, Administrative Sciences (e.g., MPA, MPM, MBA), or Political Science; alternatively, a civil servant status (Beamter/Beamter) up to pay grade A 14 BBesO in non-technical administrative service.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of demonstrable professional experience in the planning, steering, or implementation of complex IT projects
  • Experience in administrative digitalization is advantageous
  • Several years of professional experience in the public service is advantageous
  • Fundamental knowledge of public service structures, processes, and decision-making paths is advantageous
