Job Summary

This role is ideal for an electrical or mechanical engineer passionate about maintaining high-voltage infrastructure crucial for the energy transition. The Service Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks on DC (HVDC) and Grid Compensation Systems (StatCom, MSCDN, rotating phase shifters) across the 50Hertz network area. Key responsibilities include coordinating external service partners, participating in procurement negotiations, evaluating measurement results, and performing component exchanges (e.g., power electronics, motors). The position requires extensive weekly travel with overnight stays, ensuring maximum system availability and minimizing downtime. Candidates must possess a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, professional experience in maintenance, and strong German and good English language skills, contributing directly to the stability of the high-voltage grid.

University Degree (Bachelor/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional experience in maintenance, particularly on electrical or power plant systems/components
  • Experience with diagnosis and maintenance planning on DC and grid compensation systems (advantageous)
  • Experience in evaluating measurement results and deriving necessary actions
  • Experience in team coordination and technical guidance (depending on experience level)
