Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the functional integrity and quality assurance of protection and control systems within high-voltage substations across the 50Hertz grid area. The professional will execute on-site testing, commissioning, and maintenance checks for critical infrastructure, including innovative systems like High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and grid control systems. Key responsibilities include conducting weekly, multi-day business trips with overnight stays, performing detailed functional tests, managing test documentation, and coordinating interfaces with telecommunications and grid control systems. The ideal candidate possesses a background in electrical engineering or related fields, specific experience in high-voltage protection/control technology, proficiency with testing software, and strong documentation skills. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge energy transmission technology for one of Germany's leading Transmission System Operators (TSOs).

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training, Master Craftsman (Meister), or Technician qualification in Electrical Engineering or Plant Technology, or completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in protection or control technology in high-voltage engineering
  • Experience in commissioning
  • Experience with HVDC systems or grid control systems (STATCOM, MSCDN, MSR, RPS) (Advantageous)
